Phoenix Senior Living is a dedicated provider of care for seniors in the Southeast. In response to the international crisis with the evolving COVID-19 virus, we remain committed to serving all seniors, including those directly affected by this pandemic. Through our years of serving seniors, we have a proven track record of partnering with regulatory agencies and the healthcare system to care for our beloved seniors. This experience positions us well to safely care for seniors as well as others with COVID-19 who are asymptomatic or exhibit only mild symptoms that don’t require 24-hour nursing care.
Our healthcare system is stressed, and Phoenix Senior Living has the capacity to provide individualized care allowing hospitals to focus on critically ill patients. Our established policies, procedures, and protocols have enabled us to protect residents and employees since the very onset of the COVID-19 outbreak. As a result of these proactive measures, we limited the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our communities and kept our residents and associates safe. As the COVID-19 crisis escalates, our protocols remain in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and the local Department of Public Health guidelines.
Phoenix Senior Living is proud to introduce our Healthcare Partnership Program in conjunction with healthcare systems in metro Atlanta. With the support of the Georgia Department of Community Health and the Georgia Department of Public Health, Phoenix Senior Living is working with metro Atlanta healthcare systems to initially provide our unoccupied units in stand-alone communities to serve those who have tested positive for COVID-19 and do not require 24-hour nursing care. These individuals will be able to move into specifically designated buildings which will not include any Phoenix community where our residents are currently living. These incoming individuals will be quarantined according to the Centers for Disease Control standards. Their care and dining will be safely delivered in their suite by a separate, trained staff, attired in personal protective equipment, designated just to serve those incoming residents.
Dr. Gary Figiel commented, “As a long time Geriatrician caring for seniors in the Southeast for over 35 years, I am very pleased to know Phoenix Senior Living has shown the insight and compassion to begin addressing the needs of our seniors through this pandemic. In addition to their expertise, Phoenix is dedicating staff and space to help accommodate those who have been impacted by the COVID-19 virus and displaced from their homes. Bravo!”
Phoenix Senior Living will deploy Clinical Support Specialists to each of these designated sites to provide onsite, experienced clinical oversight. These Specialists offer infection control training and detailed demonstrations on proper use of personal protective equipment. Signage throughout the communities will provide clear instructions on how to safely perform these tasks. Each community will have a designated team of trained caregivers for all COVID-19 residents; guiding them safely through their quarantine period.
Jesse Marinko, CEO of Phoenix Senior Living stated, “This is the right thing to do given the circumstances and the adversity these health systems are facing. Every decision has risk, but sometimes you have to follow your moral compass and trust your intentions. These are unchartered waters that require unique solutions in an everchanging environment. We are stronger working together to protect those in need of care as our nation responds to the Covid-19 crisis.”
